Stitching Work
Professional stitching software for film post-production.
When scanning film at high resolution, frames are often captured as overlapping strips that need to be reassembled with pixel-level precision. Stitching Work handles this entire process — from automatic overlap detection to final frame export.
Originally developed for K65K's 65mm workflows, Stitching Work supports both 65mm and 35mm film formats. It reads TIFF and DPX files from any scanner and outputs assembled frames ready for your post-production pipeline.

How it works
Automatic overlap detection
Stitching Work uses cross-correlation analysis to detect the exact overlap between adjacent scan strips — down to the single pixel. The multi-pair median algorithm analyses multiple frame pairs to find the most stable overlap value, eliminating outliers caused by dust, scratches, or scanner inconsistencies.
Perforation validation
Every detected overlap is cross-checked against the known perforation geometry of the selected film format. If the numbers don't match the physics, the software flags it — before you process a single frame. This prevents silent errors that would otherwise propagate through an entire roll.
Consistent, repeatable output
Every operation is mathematically deterministic: the same input always produces the same output. For cinema-grade post-production, this means you can re-process a roll months later and get identical results. No surprises, no drift.
From any scanner to any deliverable
Stitching Work reads TIFF and DPX files from any scanner and outputs assembled frames ready for your DI pipeline. Configure input and output formats independently, set your overscan, validate your overlaps — and let the software do the rest across thousands of frames.

For post-production facilities
Stitching Work is free for film labs and post-production facilities that join the K65K partner program. We believe that the best tools should be accessible, and that strong partnerships between manufacturers and labs push the entire industry forward.
Registration is open to any facility working with 65mm and 35mm film scanning. Once approved as a partner, your lab receives a unique lab code that unlocks the software. Individual projects receive their own project codes for tracking and quality assurance.
Quality assurance & R&D
The software requires an active internet connection for license validation. During each stitching session, a single sample frame is transmitted to K65K servers for quality control and R&D purposes. This data is treated confidentially and is never shared with third parties. Full details are available in the license agreement.
